Osteoarthritis of the knee and hip joint

Osteoarthritis is a chronic condition. Pain felt during exercise may be due to osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis of the hips and knees is common. Athletes or people approaching middle age are often affected. It is common when bodies are subjected to long-term strain. In osteoarthritis, the cartilage in the joint changes. The surface becomes uneven and there is a severe risk that the cartilage will wear and disappear completely. The best way to stave off osteoarthritis is to strengthen the muscles around the affected joint. This counteracts the condition and relieves the joint.
